André Villas-Boas is eager to bolster Tottenham’s strike force and has set his sights on David Villa, Spain’s all-time top goalscorer. According to the Daily Mail, the London club is willing to stump up €8.5 million for the Barça marksman, but the Catalan club is hoping to secure closer to €14 million.
Villa is up for sale after a season in which it has become clear that he isn’t in Tito Vilanova’s long-term plans. He nearly left for the Premier League in the winter transfer window, but ultimately stayed in Barcelona.
The 31-year-old Asturian is eager to get a taste for English football, but first a club will have to reach an agreement with Barça.
